HOW TO VOTE BY MAIL IN BALLOT: Once you open your ballot packet begin by selecting which party you are going to vote for. While technically Hawai’i has an open primary, you must still select a party and vote only along those party lines and for nonpartisan races. For example,  I am running as a Democrat so I will select the democratic ballot and vote on all of the Democratic races.

I will then turn my ballot over and vote in all of the nonpartisan races. An important detail, you must completely fill in the box next to the name of the candidate you are voting for. A checkmark or an "x" in the box is not sufficient.

After completing your ballot, place it in the privacy sleeve and insert it into the return envelope. Don't forget to sign the envelope, or your vote won't be counted. Then you can drop your ballot in the mail, no postage required, or directly into a secure ballot box. For a list of locations visit this page on my website: (insert ballot box locations link)

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can always go and register and vote in-person at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku.   (Click for MAP)

Not registered yet- That is OK! You can do same day registration!

HERE IS HOW TO REGISTER SAME DAY!

Go to the polls Saturday August 13th. Find your poll at the link above. Go to the polls from 7am to 5pm.

You will be required to complete a voter registration affidavit form. On the form you will need to provide your Hawaii Driver License number or Hawaii State ID number. If you have not been issued either ID, you will be asked to provide the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Upon completion of the form, you will be asked to present one form of physical identification.

That's it! You've just made your voice heard and your vote is on its way to being counted on Saturday August 13th! And it took less than 10 minutes to do!

I'm off to my next meeting. Mahalo for reading and for voting!
