Important Constitutional Amendment Protecting LGBTQ rights: Vote YES
Hawai'i was the first state to protect gay marriage rights. Now civil rights are under attack at Federal level. We have all seen SCOTUS decisions from abolishing Roe, approving Janus, overturning Chevron, broad immunity, discussions about overturning the Love and even Obergefell (2015) Whether it is protecting LGBTQ rights, children in schools, your right to healthcare and housing, protecting rights to reproductive medical care, or protecting our environment, reaffirming society's protections at the state level is one of the most important jobs that any legislator can do.
A flaw in the HI state Constitution could allow the legislature to abolish same sex marriage.
In Hawaii, ballot measures come in only one form: legislatively referred constitutional amendments.
We passed HB2802 to fix it. Next on November 5th please vote to protect our civil rights!

The constitutional amendment questions with the exact wording as specified in the
legislation adopted are as follows: H.B. N0. 2802, H.D. 1 entitled:
"PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 1, SECTION 23, OF THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION RELATING TO MARRIAGE.“ QUESTION: “Shall the state constitution be amended to repeal the legislature’s authority to reserve marriage to opposite-sex couples?” [ONLY!]
